Clockwork Orange Costume Complications #2 (lol)?

January 6th, 2009
  • lol, I've already asked a very similar question about 2 months ago, so I guess this would be the sequal.
Anyways, here it is: I'm putting together an Alex Delarge (Clockwork Orange) costume, but I've no access to an accurate crickett codpeice, as I live in the U.S. where there is no crickett equipment availabe in sporting goods stores.
I've found that most just buy a regular jock strap, which I've looked into. However, I bumped into another solution (before you read this, know that fyi, I'm a girl, so don't get too weirded out): I've found that an off-white pair of bikini style Jockey brand underwear (panties) worn outside the pants looked SHOCKINGLY perfect. The catch: they look great from the front, but from the back it looks kind of silly--unlike a jock strap or the actual codpeice, there is cloth covering the butt on the underwear, so it looks distinctly like I'm wearing panties outside my pants (like superman, lol).
Is it really that silly, or is it just me? It's gonna take a lot of guts for me to wear any kind of undergarment outside my clothes in public anyway. But accuracy is important to me, so I'm not going without.
So should I pick the more common choice, the jock strap, which fits a little weirdly, or should I go with the more comfortable Jockey underpants, which (from the front at least) look more like the cod peice in the movie but look a little ridiculous from behind?

  • I vote for the jockstrap. Panties would just look weird on a 'male' costume.
