Tauscan freezing

  • Hi Everyone,

    I am using Tauscan v1.6. When I run a scan of my computer it always hangs at 4%. Also when I look in the database on the menu there are no entries, I have run the Tauscan update but still nothing shows up in the database. Can anyone please tell me what could be the problem?:confused:


  • I have the same problem and the manual update is 1/14/03, whereas my current version of defauld.tdb is 1/17/03. :confused:


  • Try the following: go to Tauscan install folder and delete default.tdb file. Then run update. What is the result?


  • will bailey, if your Tauscan freezes during scan then please go to Options->Misc and unmark 'Archives'.

    Also what happens when you try to run automatic Update?

    Thanks for your reply. I have updated Tauscan manually, and everything seems o.k. now. As for it freezing, I looked in the folder that it seemed to be stopping on. This folder had in excess of 8000 temp files. After deleting all of them the problem does not happen. I think it was not freezing but just taking forever to check the 8000 + files. Thanks for your help;)


  • Danil, unchecked Archives and when I do the auto update it says I am up todate, the manual gives the same as in my earlier note.

    Also when I look in the database on the menu there are no entries,It means that your database is empty. Don't you see any error message on startup?
