My daughter is turning two in November, and we have rented a building to have her party in. The problem is that i have no idea what kind of food to serve. I dont want to serve pizza or anything that mite cause the elders heartburn or anything, but i dont know hat to serve. I am doing this on my own and my hubbys family doesnt think i can do it. I dont want to prove them rite. I want everything to go perfect. I have decorations and games and the cake, but i dont kno what else. PLEASE HELP!!!!okay maybe barbeque or something like that!! but your best bet is to cook a big huge bowl of sopa.of do a little thing with a variety of food that people can have a choice. and have pizza maybe for the kidds of thats what they like.Serve pb&j sandwiches, and half them so they look fancy.
Cut up chilled fruit is always good too. Go to the produce market and get some fruit for a decent price, and then cut it up and chill it in your fridge for a few hours before the party. If you're having a lot of kids there you know you want them to have stuff that's easy not to spill. You can buy a bag of pizza rolls and cook them and put em on a plate the kids would like those.
And please don't worry about having the perfect birthday party. It's your little girl's special day, so make it about her feeling special more than anything. The thing she'll remember the most is how you treated her. So wouldn't you just love to make her day? I understand stress from the in-laws can be an obstacle, but just remember, you want them to see how much you care about her, not just how good a planner you are. And most of all you want her to know that you care.
oh and btw you can put the fruit in a cooler if it'll be a while before it's time to eat. What does your daughter like? I would take a couple of foods she likes and then add some dishes to this to make it complete.Bar-b-qued pork or chicken sandwiches, assuming there is an outlet that you can plug in a crock pot to keep it warm. Get yourself a boston butt, aka pork shoulder roast, aka picnic roast. Season with garlic salt and pepper, cover and cook at about 275 for about 4-6 hours depending on the size, the key is low and slow. When it is tender when you stick a fork in it, take it out and let it cool a little, then shred it (I use my fingers, but you could use forks), try to leave some fairly big chunks. Add Bar-b-que sauce and toss GENTLY. Refrigerate until your party, then place in crock pot and reheat slowly. Serve with cole slaw, potato chips, maybe potato salad, maybe baked beans (you could serve these from a crock pot too). This is an awesome party meal!A variety of sandwiches - chicken salad, egg salad, tuna salad, salami, ham. All can be made at home ahead of time, no heating needed. You can cut them into quarters so that if people want to try more than one kind they won't get too full.
Pickles, olives, potato chips. A good selection of sandwiches with the pickles and chips should be enough, with cake for dessert. Just make sure you have a lot of sandwiches - quantity, not necessarily variety. If you're so inclined, you could have potato salad, cole slaw, and/or deviled eggs too. - sandwiches
- veggie plate
- chips and dip
- salad
- crackers and cheese
- fruit salad
- cold pasta salad
- trail mix or a chex mix
sandwiches are a great crowd winner. or go to allrecipes.com. sliced raw veggie.s for adults, finger foods for kids. grill hot dogs for the kids, just make sure you cut them length wise in half (NOT COIN SHAPED). Hamburgers for adults. hope this helps. Never threw a part for a toddler, but went to lots of them. A nice fruit dip is always a winner.you should serve something easy like salad or soup with some bread sticks. #If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
